Privacy Policy
Dream Building Consultants respects the privacy of the families we serve. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Last updated July 1, 2026
1. Who we are
Dream Building Consultants (“Dream Building Consultants,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides Independent Facilitation services to California families navigating the Self-Determination Program (SDP). This Privacy Policy applies to dreambuildingconsultants.com (the “Site”) and to the information families share with us through the Site.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
When you contact us or request services, you may voluntarily provide:
- Contact details — your first and last name, email address, and phone number.
- Inquiry details — where you are in the SDP process, your preferred callback time, and any information you choose to include in your message, which may relate to your family, your child, their Regional Center, or their support needs.
- Intake information — if you become a client, our intake and release forms may ask for information about the SDP participant, including health-, disability-, and services-related details needed to support you. These forms are collected through a third-party, HIPAA-compliant provider (see Section 6).
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers may automatically collect standard technical information, such as your device type, browser, approximate location, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and schedule consultations;
- Provide, coordinate, and improve our Independent Facilitation services;
- Communicate with you about your questions, your services, and your SDP journey;
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Site; and
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our pages so we can improve them. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf. You can prevent this by adjusting your browser settings, declining cookies, or installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by law.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors who perform services on our behalf — such as website hosting, email delivery, form processing, and analytics — under agreements that limit their use of the information (see Section 6).
- Legal and safety reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and well-being of our families, the public, or Dream Building Consultants.
- With your direction. When you ask us to share information — for example, with your Regional Center or a service provider — as part of delivering our services.
6. Third-party services and forms
We rely on trusted third-party providers, each governed by its own privacy and security practices:
- Hipaatizer — hosts our online intake and release forms with HIPAA-compliant safeguards, so families can submit sensitive information securely rather than on paper.
- Email delivery — messages submitted through our contact form are transmitted to us by an email service provider.
- Google Analytics — provides website usage analytics as described in Section 4.
- Website hosting — the Site is hosted by our web platform provider.
7. Information about the individuals we serve
The families we support often share information about a child or adult with a developmental disability. We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide our services, we treat it with care, and we rely on families to provide any consents or authorizations required before sharing photographs, testimonials, or other identifying details on the Site.
8. How long we keep information
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain our records, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations, after which we securely delete or de-identify it.
9. How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it;
- Request access to, or a copy of, your personal information;
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- Request deletion of your personal information; and
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out of sale is required. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@dreambuildingconsultants.com. We will verify your request and respond as required by law.
11. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for parents, caregivers, and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Information about a minor participant is provided to us by a parent or guardian in connection with our services.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
